Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains the additional Avicenna 14-Day Course Guarantee and how refund or cancellation requests are handled.

1. The 14-Day Avicenna Course Guarantee

2. What Counts as Starting an Assessment?

The guarantee is based on assessment activity rather than the number of lessons viewed or the percentage of course content opened.

A Knowledge Check, test or assessment is treated as started when the Academy’s learning system records that the learner has begun an assessment attempt, even if the learner later leaves the assessment without submitting it.

This provides a clear and objective rule that can be verified from Academy assessment records.

3. Lessons and Learning Content

Opening lessons, reading notes, watching teacher explanations or completing ordinary learning activities does not by itself end the 14-Day Avicenna Course Guarantee.

The guarantee ends when the learner starts a Knowledge Check, test or assessment.

4. How to Request a Guarantee Refund

A refund request under the 14-Day Avicenna Course Guarantee must be made within 14 calendar days of the original purchase.

The request should identify the purchaser and the programme concerned so that the purchase and learner activity can be verified.

5. Verification

Avicenna Academy may check the relevant purchase record and assessment-attempt records before approving a refund under the guarantee.

If no Knowledge Check, test or assessment has been started and the request was made within 14 calendar days, the purchaser will be eligible for the Avicenna guarantee refund.

6. Refund Method

Approved refunds will normally be returned through the original payment method where reasonably possible.

The time taken for funds to appear after a refund has been issued may depend on the payment provider, card issuer or bank.

7. Examination Fees and Third-Party Charges

Examination-board fees, examination-centre fees or other external charges are separate from an Academy programme unless expressly stated otherwise.

Where a separate external charge has already been committed to or paid to a third party, its refundability may depend on that third party’s rules and the purchaser’s statutory rights.

8. Digital Content and Statutory Cancellation Rights

Academy programmes may include digital content supplied online.

Where consumer law requires express consent before digital content is supplied during a statutory cancellation period, Avicenna Academy will obtain the appropriate consent and acknowledgement through the purchase process before relying on any statutory loss of cancellation rights.

The Avicenna 14-Day Course Guarantee is separate from statutory cancellation rights. It gives an additional contractual refund opportunity subject to the assessment-attempt condition described above.

9. Faulty or Misdescribed Digital Content or Services

Nothing in this policy limits statutory rights where digital content or services are faulty, not as described, not supplied with reasonable care and skill where that requirement applies, or otherwise fail to meet applicable consumer law.

The assessment-attempt condition applies only to the additional Avicenna 14-Day Course Guarantee. It does not remove legal remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Exceptional Circumstances

Avicenna Academy may consider circumstances outside the express guarantee where it is fair and reasonable to do so, but doing so in one case does not create an automatic entitlement in another case.
