Students studying in the UK and internationally follow the same structured Avicenna learning journey and the same high academic standards, with AQA GCSE preparation for the UK GCSE pathway and Pearson Edexcel International GCSE preparation for the International GCSE pathway.
International students are not given a simplified version of the course. Core subject knowledge and skills are taught through the same rigorous Avicenna learning pathway.
Students following Avicenna's UK GCSE pathway build strong subject knowledge and skills before progressing into AQA GCSE preparation in Maths, English and Science. Additional subjects and A-Level pathways will be introduced later.
Students following Avicenna's International GCSE pathway receive the same rigorous teaching foundation, with preparation aligned to the relevant Pearson Edexcel International GCSE specification.

As students approach formal qualifications, UK GCSE preparation is aligned to the relevant AQA specification, while International GCSE preparation is aligned to the relevant Pearson Edexcel International GCSE specification. Current subjects are Maths, English and Science. Additional subjects and A-Level pathways will be introduced later.
The teaching foundation remains the same. Qualification-specific preparation changes where required.Avicenna Academy teaches the academic content of Science, including the theory, scientific methods and practical knowledge required by the relevant examination specification.
Students learn how practical investigations are carried out, including methods, apparatus, variables, recording and analysing results, drawing conclusions and evaluating investigations.
Avicenna Academy does not provide physical laboratory practical sessions.
Where a chosen Science qualification or examination board requires practical work to be completed or attended in person, the student or parent is responsible for arranging this independently with a suitable external provider.
Avicenna Academy does not arrange or book practical sessions on behalf of students and does not pay or contribute towards the cost of practical work.
Any practical, laboratory or associated external fees are separate from the Avicenna Academy course fee.
Avicenna Academy provides teaching and examination preparation. Examination entry fees are not included within the Avicenna Academy course fee.
Students or parents are responsible for arranging examination entry with a suitable examination centre and for paying all examination entry and examination-centre fees directly to that centre.
Examination fees, examination centre charges and any associated external fees are entirely separate from the Avicenna Academy course fee.
Where additional charges apply for practical assessments, laboratory sessions, centre administration or other examination-related services, these are also the responsibility of the student or parent and are paid directly to the relevant external provider or examination centre.
Families should confirm the examination, practical and centre requirements for the relevant AQA GCSE or Pearson Edexcel International GCSE qualification before making final examination arrangements.
